Some advice on this gaming build please

Hi guys, i have made the below built solely for gaming and some day to day normal tasks. Now to mention, i am planning to get the 3080 GPU from Nvidia, so that 2080 will get replaced. But we all know we gotta wait for the release date.

Also to mention, i play mainly single player games, some co op, RPG's, strategies and some solo shooters. Not so much of competitive gaming, like COD etc. Maybe occasional.

The build might be over the top, that's why a bit of advice would be ideal.

Also i plan to buy one of these monitors:
ASUS ROG Swift PG279QE 27 inch LED IPS

ASUS ROG Strix XG279Q HDR Gaming Monitor

Acer Predator XB271HUbmiprz 27 Inch WQHD Gaming Monitor

Which monitors you recommend?
Something like this?
Let's say that i could bump up the budged for a good monitor up to £900 - £1000 max.

Samsung LC43J890DKUXEN 43" Curved Ultra Wide LED Monitor

What about the overall built? Too extreme? Or just about right?

Thank you very much for the above built. Much appreciated.
Looks more in line with what i actually wanted (not tech genie since i had my last PC rig back in 2009). And the money saved i could use them towards a better monitor.

I will wait as well for Mr Scott or Sypder input, then i agree on the final built and monitor. Only downside is that i have to wait until 17th of Sept, but definitely the wait would be worth it.

Also, Qled monitors are not prone to screen burn like the Oled? Unless i got my facts wrong.

The build looks fantastic to me. If you wanted a bit of swag you could chuck in a 1TB M2 drive just for games (Drop the primary to 500GB to allow some swing with the funds).

For the rest, paired with a 3080, it'll be an absolute gaming monster.

At those budgets....

Corsair K95 Platinum XT RGB

Corsair IronClaw Wireless

The K70 is without a doubt a fine choice but if you have £200 for a keyboard then the K95 XT would be my choice. I think the main differences between the K70 and the 95 is the Macro Keys but the XT brings some very nice additions.

Frankly, if all you're doing is gaming, you won't need a Seagate Firecuda. Those PCIe 4 drives are more for professional users who are doing things like 4K animations. You wouldn't notice a difference between that and the Samsung 970 EVO in games.

So based on the opinions and personal budget wise choice, the final build is:

https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/saved-configurations/amd-am4-gen3-pc/nCwGbbGZYh/ - £2798 (of course with the 3080 GPU)

I hope the case is fine, as i thought the previous one was a bit bulky.

Corsair K95 Platinum XT RGB - £200
Corsair IronClaw Wireless - £67
Samsung C49RG90 49" QLED Curved Ultra Wide Monitor - £1100

Total: £4165

Final missing piece of puzzle from this gaming monster is the audio - Headphones or speaker system. Now i have 2 sets of decent headphones from Turtle Beach. And since i do not play much online, i would prefer the sound to come from a decent pair of speakers. (Kinda hate to sit with headphones on my head on longer sessions of gaming). Any recommendations?

Btw guys you have been a tremendous help and thank you once again for that.

Do Wired mice work better for things like RPGs etc than wireless? Just thinking of things like input lag etc? In the same way that a Wired connection is preferable to a Wi-Fi when playing with others online?

We are at the point now where there is less latency lag in wireless than there is with wired. It's bonkers I know, but I'm sure I read that somewhere on this very forum. Basically when it comes to the Ironclaw..... no-one is going to notice :)

Hello guys,

Now that the 3080's are out in the wind, i am ready to click the purchase button. But i have just found out that the new AMD CPU are about to launch on 8th of October, or around that date.

Makes sense to wait a few more days? Will those be better to go for? I mean i feel that the 3900 XT should be more than enough for a good while... Thoughts?

I would personally be holding off as the rumours are scarce so it's a bit of an unknown.

If you are pairing a system with a 3080 it's unlkely that your build will be built before the 8th of October, which would allow you to swap out the CPU to one of the new models.

It would be a risk though, they may end up being too efficient haha.

This is the exact same dilemma I find myself in. PCS have tended to be pretty efficient in my experience, so I don't trust them to be inefficient when it'd benefit me. Haha!

I am only concerned that the CPU's will be scarce at launch same as the 3000 GPU's and i would risk for my built getting delayed even more - while sourcing the 3080 and the new AMD CPU. Hmm, decisions, decisions.

I must have it ready and running for Cyberpunk 2077 release date...been waiting on it since 2012.

Hi Takezo,
The build Nursemorpth configured for you with Scott's suggestions too sounds like an absolute beast of a thing !!!
I hope Cyberpunk lives up too your expectations and many others too, I am sure it will and your system will allow you to play it in all its glory!!! Can't believe they actually got Keanu Reeves and he has a starring role too!
Look forward to seeing your photos when it arrives in the future as I appreciate you are waiting a bit to see the AMD CPU situation.
Cheers

With the new CPU's revealed, i am aiming for the 5900X one. But i got to wait until 5th of Nov.😑

Also i have noticed that stuff i wanted for my setup (like that Corsair 680 case) it gets out of stock from the online configuration. Waiting for this CPU might have been a mistake now...

If you’re really keen on the 680 (beautiful case, one of my favourites) you could always source it yourself and have it shipped to PCS...

It's worse than that...now the monitor is out of stock too, the 1 tb hdd from seagate and other bits. I wanted to go with as many components and peripherals as possible bought from here so i can spread the payments over 12 months. Now i am pretty much f....d.
By the time the new CPu's are coming out, who know what else will be out of stock from my build....
