Sound issue with new PC

Hi all,

I recently bought a PC from PCS but I cannot seem to get my headset microphone (Creative Fatal1ty gaming headset) to register any sound whatsoever from any input (front panel, back panel and sound card). I have been through the usual checks, make sure mic is not muted in the mixer etc. but can't seem to get any response. I'll list some relevant specs that hopefully will help with any support for this issue...

CORSAIR GRAPHITE SERIES™ 600T WHITE MID-TOWER CASE

ASUS® Z87-PRO: USB3.0, SATA 6GB/S, XFIRE, SLi, WiFi

Creative Sound Blaster Z 5.1 PCI-E Soundcard - OEM (£55)

Genuine Windows 7 Professional 64 Bit w/SP1

One of the sound programs I have is Realtek HD Audio Manager but the card is a SoundBlaster so I don't know if there is some sort of conflict there?

Any help would be appreciated, I'm out of ideas.

Thanks!

have you set the soundblaster card as default?

win 7 , right click on the volume meter, playback devices.

you dont need the realtek devices enabled, because the soundcard should be doing the job too.

Yeah it was set as default... I've just played around and managed to get the mic to be recognised and now it seems to work! Probably operator error on my part but you pointed me in the right direction, thanks for the help!
