What is your "dead PC's" full specs? Perhaps it can be fixed without wasting a platform that is still good and has plenty of life left.

The platform itself, with the exception of the absolutely inadequate power supply, was not so bad designed, however the storage configuration was not ideal. What kind of troubles are you experiencing?

Believe it or not but that spec was defined on these forums 5 years ago. The only thing I added to it was another 16gb of ram.

The pc has completely shut down, and no removal/disconnection of components helps to bring it back, yet the PSU is still working due to the RGB lights on the back of the mobo illuminating.

The white build you posted is certainly in the realm of where I would look for, and the drop down to 5080 makes sense, maybe I was being a bit to ambitious with what demand I thought I would throw at it.

He was advised a 750 watt PSU by @MrWilson

Do you mean this? The recommended PSU for a 2060 was 750W.

That PSU didn't have enough power to sustain a 3060ti and a 5600X, especially since the ATX3 standard with built-in transient spikes protection had not yet been released at the time. I would not have gone below 850W for future GPU upgrades.

Personally, I'd try to fix and upgrade the existing build by replacing the PSU with something acceptable (1000W ATX3), removing the PCS drive and installing a couple of decent SSD NVME drives, and obviously upgrading the GPU for your monitor's 4K resolution (the Samsung C27F390FHU is unsuitable for gaming).

Yes, 750W for a 2060 was acceptable, albeit with a bit too little room for upgrades; certainly, a 550W was not good for a 3060ti in the long run.

I have a donor PSU arriving next week to see if anything wakes up, though I am not hopeful.

The C27F monitor is not for gaming, rather running videos or things like discord on, so I am not too worried about that.

Appreciate everyone's inputs on this. I will make a decision on what route to go after testing the PSU in a week's time, though it is likely I will go for the 5080 build given the age of some of the components in the PC, and that quite a few of the hard drives are borderline antiquated 😂
