Hi All,

I am looking to get an Optimus laptop however i'm uncertain about the screen configuration. What would the the difference with

Optimus series: 15.5" Matte Full HD 120Hz 45% NTSC LED Widescren (1920x1080)

Optimus series: 15.5" Matte Full HD 60Hz 72% NTSC LED Widescren (1920x1080)

Also what would be the difference between the above and an IPS 60Hz 45% NTSC LED

Also - i would be grateful if i can have an opinion of the configuration i've chosen.

Regarding the screens:

Optimus series: 15.5" Matte Full HD 120Hz 45% NTSC LED Widescren (1920x1080)

120Hz refresh rate, ie can show a max of 120fps designed for gaming

Optimus series: 15.5" Matte Full HD 60Hz 72% NTSC LED Widescren (1920x1080)

60fps maximum, but higher colour accuracy, better for design or image processing.

Also what would be the difference between the above and an IPS 60Hz 45% NTSC LED

IPS tends to be better colour reproduction and darker blacks. Just a higher quality screen technology, but limited to 60fps.

What are you using the laptop for? What's your max budget? What's the thought behind your SSD setup?

My budget is under £1,500 including (warranty and guarantee). Following a bit of research, i'm now torn between the Proteus and Recoil series. Would likely go for the Proteus or Recoil. <see this link https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/forums/threads/proteus-or-recoil-build-please-advise.65025/ >

Thinking of choosing a 1 x 500GB SSD for my OS and 1x 1TB SATA SSD for storing files. (no SATA with the Recoil)
