Start PXE over IPv4 IPv6

Hi all,

Appreciate any help in solving this problem.

I went away for a week and came back, tried to start computer and the message coming up is "start PXE over IPv4 IPv6" and going into BIOS.
BIOS doesn't recognize the hard drive, SATA at all. Nothing was changed physically in the computer, neither it was moved or changes, just was off for a week?

Any advice would be appreciated.
Thank you,
Tom

The BIOS cannot find the boot files on your SSD, or cannot find your SSD at all, that's why it's running on into a network boot which fails with the message you see.

Check the connections to your SSD (both ends).

Thanks, all connections seem to be ok, I have tried different power supply and different SATA cable, no difference. Also updated BIOS but to no difference.

Thanks anyway for helping!

Ouch, updating the BIOS without authorisation from PCS may void your warranty.

This isn't a BIOS issue in any case, it's an SSD issue. The bootloader can't find the boot files on your SSD. That's the problem. Upodating the BIOS is always the last thing you try in problem determination, never the first. :)

Can you see the SSD in your BIOS setup?

Ooops, didn't know that, but thanks for letting me know.

I cannot see SSD in BIOS under any SATA connection, and I tried to connect to different SATA port, but no difference again.

That sounds rather like a drive failure to me.

Boot the Windows installation DVD/USB and see whether that boots OK. If it does then a drive failure is the most likely cause.

Well, I have put in another SSD, the original one, I am not sure how to use it. It is in, attached by data/power cable, but in Device Manager it show 0 volume and I cannot initalise it to start it off, nor format. It is only there in the manager, but cannot do anything with it. When trying to intitalise, it says the device which is selected doesn't exist. I tried to use DISKPART from prompt command, no sign of the drive. It has just simply disappeared. Hence I cannot recover any data from it, as it is impossible to see it, do it anything on.
Unless you guys know what to do? :)

Do you mean you’ve reattached the failed one?

I wouldn't reattach it in the pc, maybe put it in a caddy and see if you can see its contents, but i'm guessing it's dead, hopefully you back up to dropbox, one drive or similar.........

Hello there Tomcio, sounds like the SSD is indeed dead! Looking at your orders the drive should still be covered by our warranty. I've just replied to the email you sent if you wish to get this replaced.
