The IP copyright Disney had on the very first Mickey Mouse, known as Steamboat Willie expired at the end of last year, so now it's a public IP that anyone can use. I think it's 100 year copyright.
Apparently Disney lobbied to have the copyright period lengthened twice successfully, it was originally due to expire in 1984
So, and just another example why the gaming community are the best in the world, the first thing someone does is.....
Create a really sick horror version of Mickey, just to massively mess with your brains!
