Sunon laptop fan continuously running

Hi all
My laptop's fan broke and I bought a new one, exactly the same. This new fan is blows much strongly and is very noisy and it will never turn off. I've tried adjusting the power options in Windows and that does nothing. I also installed software like Speedfan and HWInfo64 but none of them detect the fan. The CPU temp is normal so I don't think that is the issue. If I mount the old fan (which is broken in the sense that it makes very loud, strange sounds), it will work normally, only coming on when the CPU is hot.
I think I've tried everything except updating BIOS, which I'm a bit nervous about.

The fan brand is Sunon EG50050S1-1C050-S9A

It sounds like it's not being recognised on the 4th PIN which is what controls speeds so it's just running at the full speed. It is definitely a 4pin fan is it? There are a lot of fakes around unfortunately.

Where did you buy it from? I would just return it and ask PCS for a replacement.

Thanks for the quick reply.
I bought it on Ali Express. Yes, it definitely has 4 pins. I bought my laptop 4 years ago, I'm pretty sure it's out of warranty. Will PCS still give me a replacement?
I was just on the phone with PCS before seeing this reply, and they told me to install Control Center and control the fan through there. I did that, and in SPC settings I get this message: "On battery or type C mode, the SPC settings have been disabled". I'm not running on battery, but I'm not sure what type C is, isn't that related to USBs? I'm definitely charging the normal way.

Couldn't find it anywhere else. What's wrong with Ali Express, doesn't PCS also get its components from China?
Ali Express is basically where you go to buy fake products, it's worth avoiding. Basically how it works in China is manufacturers make their products as normal, a factory worker will get the designs and leak them to some Chinese mass producer who copies it and sells it as real. Ali Express is basically a marketplace for those fake goods. They're not built to the same tolerances or use the same materials, they're built as cheaply as possible and don't go through any kind of QC.

PCS get their products direct from the manufacturer.

I see now, thanks for that, I'll know to avoid them in the future.

Hi all

I've already posted about trying to replace a laptop fan, with the consensus being that I should not have bought it from AliExpress. Unfortunately, I can't find it anywhere else and PC Specialist says the manufacturer is out of stock. The problem is that the new fan is always on.
Now, I have tried every software on the net to try to control the fan myself, but none of them recognize the fan. I am now trying Control Centre but I get this error when I go to Performance > SPC Settings: "on battery or TypeC mode, the SPC settings has been disabled" (the spelling error is their own)
Control Centre version is 5.1.49.10. I am using Windows 11. I have also tried version 5.1.49.2 and I got the same error.

Any ideas how to solve this error? Also, any ideas what other software would allow me to control the fan myself?
