Surely this is a mistake?

Morning all.

I’ve just received an update on my order I placed last week. I was emailed over the weekend saying that my order was due for build today. I’ve just received another email stating that it’s now going to be Wednesday the 25 of November. I updated my order the day after placing it (the 18th) but all the changes were showing as available. Has anyone else had this?

I want to stop this dead in it’s tracks, none of us can tell you what’s happening here, you need to speak directly to PCS to find out if it’s a mistake or something is out of order until then.

Don’t do guesswork and assumptions, go to the source.

if you read the original post, I asked if anybody else had experienced the same thing. It’s quite obvious nobody here can answer the question as to why. I was asking if anyone had the same issue and it looks like they do.

Got the same email...... WTF !!! My specs are similar so can only assume its the 3080 holding it up but even that seems excessive. Bit deflated now tbh... sigh...

Yeah that would be my assumption as well to be honest. Thing is, PCS said to me that they had 2000 in stock ready for the launch of the 3080. I ordered at 14:07 and the card showed as available (Not pre-order as it does now). Very strange. Not sure 2 months is viable to wait if I’m honest

Bear in mind they do around 5000 orders a week, so 2000 units is not very many.

This is what I mean, you’re making complete assumptions without speaking to PCS, that’s why I posted my previous comment.

We know how people work with things like this, one person will post some negative assumption and loads of people jump on the bandwagon.

Never assume anything, always find out direct from the source or a reliable source.

Agreed. 2000 individual cards in 7 minutes would be perfectly feasible on the likes of overclockers etc. But 2000 full builds in 7 minutes would be quite extraordinary. AlexJames said he ordered at 14:01 yet has had the same email. Very strange. I’ll speak to PCS at 09:00 and find out.

Agreed, if you're doing a 3080 build it's going to be close to or more than £2000. We'll find out soon but yeah ,has to be a mistake. No way stock ran out within a minute lol. I'm sure it's just a mistake though

I've just had the same email. Is it some kind of sick joke?
Sure it's easy to be negative about it and it's important to share the gloom as simply PCS haven't really been proactive in making it clear of how long it will actually take to get the 3080. I pissed away a lot of money for a build this month and to not receive it in the regular build time without real communication as to how long it'll take or a solution (temporary card until 3080 comes). 2 months... Come on! You can see why people are pissed.

Does it really matter if we speculate the root cause? No one is bashing PCS or posting anything negative. Forums are mostly opinion-based platforms anyway. Having a build date pushed back 2 months, no matter the cause, will obviously generate concern.

Yeah I got a similar email this morning, I think I had my order placed about 14:04 also with a 3080 inside the build. I've emailed them so just awaiting a response.

I also ordered a €3000 full build by 2.05pm, if its not the card maybe announcements on COVID this week in the UK, but as said above no point in speculation. Will be interested to hear what they say. I thought 25th of October would have been worst case scenario, did a double take when I saw November.

Are you completely oblivious to the worldwide situation on these cards? There is no cause for this kind of response. Just Google stocks of 3080 and educate yourself on the current situation worldwide

Just spoke to someone using the live chat

"Unfortunately there is no ETA at the moment - we are sourcing stock weekly but it will be very tight - and we cannot say with any certainty when orders will be fulfilled - it could be a few weeks depending on your position in the queue

There was some in stock on the 17th, but like you say its first come first served

It will probably be more in stock sooner than that - this date is just an overestimation"

Apparently ordering 1 minute after the cards have launched isn't soon enough lol
Anyway if any of you end up calling in reporting back here would be appreciated, probably going to give them a call myself anyway.
