Tabbing Out

Hi, im having a problem and i don't understand how to stop it.
Its probably just me but i cant seem find a solution unless i restart my computer.
The problem is when im doing anything on my computer such as browsing the internet/typing/playing games it randomly selects something so that whenever i press any keys i get tabbed out.
For example when this happens if i press F it tabs me out and opens a computer search and if i press E it tabs me out and selects a desktop icon beginning with E.
This probably has a simple solution but i couldn't figure out how to stop it. i have tried everything i can think of but shutting down the PC is the only thing that works.

Have you tried a different keyboard? Sounds like a hardware issue to me.

Sounds like the alt key may be stuck.

no i haven't yet tried a different keyboard but ill give it a try

Yeah sounds like your keyboard is the issue, either the keyboard is shorting out or the ctrl or alt key is stuck on, try a different keyboard
