The 3D Gimmick

I was elated to recieve my new laptop from PC Specialist today and have finally neared the end of the long wait for all the software (in addition to a sizeable steam game library) to properly install.

I could have posted this in the new computer/showoff section but I afraid that there is one royally ostentatious bug-bear that I have with the new rig that I have to admit defeat to.

In summary I must ask anybody if they know how I may disable the 3d settings on my graphics card to remove the ugly multi-layered screening effect that plagues all of the media I view online (everything from you tube videos to the weather forecast).

It's honestly just a gimmick that has the feel of a 1950's monster cinema flick feel to it, and I'd rather this sort of thing didn't come as standard straight from the factory. I wouldn't usually need to ask this sort of thing, but all of my previous computers all had one setting for their graphics cards and thus I never had a need to fiddle around with the instruments.

My system specs are as follows:

Optimus II 17.3"

Intel i7 (2.2ghz) 6mb cache
8gig 1333mhz RAM
Nvidia GEFORCE GT555M
etc.

Besides from all the updates, troubleshooting with the latest patch to adobe flash and the 3d problem, the computer is superb. Too bad it's a little too powerful to run most of my old DOS games from GOG though. Any help would be much appreciated.
