So there was an old thread from 2012 on Half Life 3, but I thought that kind of necro was going a little too far so thought would create a new one
The Half Life series have been some of the most groundbreaking games ever made, and each game has pivoted the gaming space forwards.
If you haven't played them, ignore the outdated graphics and play them, they're cheap as chips, and once you allow yourself to get into the flow of the story, you'll find yourself lost in it, it's such an encompassing experience.
Don't forget Black Mesa which starts with new levels made in the old Source 2 engine, then leading into modern incredibly rich graphical design in later levels, design was started by a devout modding community and gained so much traction that a studio adopted it. It's a superb game and continues the ethos really well.
