With the Intel build, you should get a Caviar Black, faster boot times and general loading :) Also Silver warranty for £5 :) AMD is more bang for your buck, where as Intel is more for money no object kind of thing.. (I read that somewhere). I'd go for AMD personally.. As to which would last longer, it's a random game.. Either could go ker-plunk at anytimes, as thats the way with technology.. You may have an old tv running fine for 6 years, then you get a new one and it breaks in the first week. Thats why you get warranty ;)

Okay thanks a lot for the feedback. I will probably go for the AMD! The only reason I was a bit iffy on the idea was because I heard somewhere that AMD's aren't as reliable as Intel. Would this computer be able to run any game on high and do so whilst recording the gameplay d'you think?

I think the last 2 PC's i've had were both AMD, and they would still work today if i tried to boot them up :) The first one maybe won't as it's been smashed up.. But im confident it would! The second one i had lasted me about 4 years, and still works, it just became dated. If we take BF3 for example, running it on Ultra and recording may streign it abit.. But im not sure, somebody who has the GPU/CPU would need to comment back. :)

With your budge i'd for the amd setup, but i'd change the processor to the quadcore bullddog processor, and go for a 6950. Also like corfate says go for a caviar black drive.

If your worried about cpu usage during gaming, my 2600 is hardly strained by bf3, obv temps go up a bit, but nothing to make it really struggle. games more rely on a good gpu, therefore the 6950 would play bf3/new games well.

it may go over ya budget a little though, but look at getting a 650 corsair. The amd cooler will be fine, you could always upgrade that yourself in the future.
