Thinking of upgrading my PC

Hey everyone! Hope you're doing well. I ordered a PC around a year ago from PC specialist and I was thinking of upgrading it. I want to have high quality/smooth streams and sometimes it can look a bit off with the specs I use right now. The fans are also abnormally loud, it could just be me going crazy but it can be heard with my Shure SM7B which I'd say is a good 1/2 metre to 1 metre away from the PC. I'm using three monitors but if lowering these sounds means sacrificing one I'd be happy to do that. If anyone could give me advice on upgrading or just selling and buying a new one that would be great. Here are my specs below, thanks so much!

The cooler is not suitable for the processor, but neither is the motherboard, currently the cooler is completely underpowered and will be running full tilt to try to keep up.

You really need an H115i Capellix or Elite Pro on that CPU.

In future, get some advice before purchasing, we could have done a substantially better build at the same budget.

Ah :/ I'll make sure next time. Any advice on what to change to at least make the most of it? I'll look at the coolers, would changing the cpu to have it suitable to the motherboard be a good idea?
Thanks :)

No need to change the CPU, it just won't be able to run as it's supposed to and will be throttled in boost performance.

I would also uninstall Bullguard if you haven't already, it causes loads of issues.

Bullguard is already uninstalled. If I was to upgrade the CPU cooler would that help with the issues I'm having? I also don't know a lot about CPUs/computers when would CPUs be in boost performances? Does it do it automatically or when I want it to?

The high fans are almost certainly because the cooler is having to run full tilt as its underspecced.

It could also be that the case fans have been plugged into the wrong header on the motherboard and are therefor running too fast.

That's an easy thing to check, they should be in a CH_Fan header and not CPU_FAN or CPU_OPT

I'll make sure to upgrade the cooler then. Any other advice upon upgrading it? If there was any under specced areas or just components in which upgrading would be a good idea.

I would start with the cooler and then reevaluate.

What monitor are you pairing the system with? What platform are you streaming to and using what?

Just looked at upgrading. Apparently, my case doesn't support the H150i. It does however support the H100i, is that worth getting? I also can't see the Elite Pro part in the upgrade section.

So far I've got three monitors. A widescreen LG monitor (60hz), A Samsung monitor (60hz) and my main monitor an AOC (144hz). I'm streaming onto Twitch and using Streamlabs OBS.

I was also curious about whether I was allowed to order parts and send them over to PC Specialist to upgrade themselves.

Not the 150, that's a 320mm cooler. You want the h115i Capellix or Elite Pro as already mentioned.

That doesn't tell us much. What resolution or make and model if you don't know?

Are you putting the stream through the GPU or the CPU?

I'm not sure, that's a bespoke option, you'd have to ask PCS about that. I'm not sure if they'd be able to regarding warranties.

Sorry, that was a typo I meant the H115i doesn't support my case. The H100i Capellix I presume is the better option than the Elite Pro however it's out of stock but I'm happy to wait until it's available. I can get the models now.

24" Samsung S24F352FHU, Resolution = 1920 x 1080, 60Hz
25" LG UltraWide 25UM58-P, Resolution = 2560x1080, 60Hz
24" AOC 24G2U, Resolution = 1920x1080, 144Hz

I use my GPU for streaming.

Case supports it fine.

It may be a bit of a squish with the RGB RAM you've got clearance wise.

yeah for some reason PCS say the biggest that can in a 465 is the H100i which if have rgb ram goes on the back of the front fans, so you end up with the rad sandwiched between 2 sets of fans, however when you get it you can move the cooler fans into the roof and leave the cooler on the back of the front fans

Hi everyone, my PC has been overheating recently and I presume it's because of the cooler not being sufficient enough. Below are my specs.

I've been trying to upgrade the cooler to a H100i (maybe evening a H115i) but the website is saying it's not compatible with my PC. Anybody know why?

When you say your system is overheating, what is overheating? CPU? GPU? Overall temps within the case? How are your fans configured within the case? I count 8 fans min, where are they all located and are they intake or exhaust?

The CPU is the main heat issue. Varying from 80 degrees celsius to 95ish. As of right now, the GPU temp is 40 and the motherboard is 27. Fan wise I've got 3 in the front with the two cooler fans behind it, 2 on the top and 1 at the rear.

I'm also not very sure what you mean by intake and exhaust. I'm not very good with PCs sorry haha.

So case fans have a front:

and a back:
1650480834222.png

Air is drawn in from the front of the fan and out the back. So if a case fan is positioned with it's front facing out of the case, it's an intake fan (drawing air into the case) and if the back is facing out it's an exhaust (extracting air out of the case)

Your fan setup is probably less than ideal. You didn't need to order the extra three case fans, as the case came with three preinstalled at the front. Instead your cooler should have been mounted at the top as exhaust, and a plain non rgb fan fitted as exhaust at the rear. I think the 5 fans at the front are restricting air intake and not allowing the cooler to work effectively.

When you touch the cooler tubing to the CPU, can you feel movement (which would indicate cooler pump is working and circulating the fluid)?

You can tell very easily if it's airflow within the case or the cooler.

If you open the side panel, do the temps massively reduce? If so then it's an airflow problem

If they don't then it's a cooler problem

My bet is on the cooler as previously suggested, that CPU requires top end cooling, H115i Capellix really as a minimum.
