I have one.
Just added an ssd to it the other day and finally put windows 7 on it so it should last a good few more years as a browsing laptop :)
As for the heat issue. My one runs at 50 degrees minimum all the time since reapplying the thermal paste. It used to run at 70-80.
I have seen loads of people complaining about it reaching 85 degrees when idle.
The normal thermal "grease" that the Toshiba techs use is bloody awful. Hair gel would probably work better than that gunk.
That does involve taking apart the whole laptop which is pretty simple if you follow a guide or have taken a laptop apart before.

Thanks for the reply :)
Good to know that the overheating is not just a problem with mine.
I replaced the thermal paste but I'm not sure how to put the keyboard back on?
I doesn't seem to slide on like it was before.

There should be a small angled piece of metal that is attached to the cd drive. That angled piece slides over and clips onto a small hook on the top cover of the chassis. Once that is clipped on the keyboard should slide on fine.
I did the same thing when I first took my one apart. It's quite hard to spot it :)
You also need to press the keyboard down quite hard to snap it into place. Just be careful not to trap any ribbon cables.
