TPM and Asus

Hi guys

So i have a Rog crosshair hero viii wifi board and Asus STILL have not released an update to fix the tpm issue in relation to amd. As a result i contacted pcs and they told me i could disable security device support, which disables tpm. I have ever since not had any lag or stutter (great). Unfortunately this means i cant get windows 11.....Is it worth the update? have i been snaked by taking advice on purchasing this motherboard and processor for my build with PCS?

My concern is Microsoft will soon stop the free upgrade to 11. I dont know how much it costs but i can tell you that the lag/stutter i was getting was infuriating, it even happened when playing youtube videos. Had i known this i probably would have gone intel rather than AMD.

here's my build btw

All motherboards have the AMD TPM fix now, it was rolled out in an AEGESA update months ago. It may only be available in a beta bios though, but it’s definitely available.

But you say you have the crosshair yet have posted a strix?

yes my motherboard is the asus crosshair hero viii wifi model and i have the rog 3090 card. I SEE nowhere on asus's page for any update on the issue their last bios update was april:

So yes, the latest update specifies it includes AGESA version to ComboV2PI 1207.

The AGESA to fix the fTPM issue was the previous V1 version of 1207

Any following BIOS version includes previous additions, so 1207V2 includes 1207

so...is it fixed? why did pcspecialist support and i quote say 'Unfortunately, the fTPM stuttering bug on AMD motherboards has not been patched on your motherboard as of yet by ASUS, so updating to the latest BIOS (4201) would not fix the issue that you are currently experiencing. ' This was when i contacted them back in june. The last response in july was from another support member who advised i could disable security support in the meantime. Im ofc happy the lag/stutter is gone but the question is, does anyone on her have a similar build and can confirm it was fixed with the newer update? why would pcs not let me update the bios?

Not something I can answer, you’d need to speak to PCS, but yes, the fTPM bug was fixed universally back in march on all platforms.
