UltraNote IV build +advice...

Hello,

I'm really impressed with the options available for making a bespoke laptop with PCS, enough to be smitten with a configuration of the 14" UltraNote IV. I would like to use this with Linux, preferably with Xubuntu or Ubuntu Mate, and would be grateful for any reassurance that others who have done something similar can provide.

Does the 8th-gen i5 play nice, is the SSD compatible, has anyone experience of the wireless card working? How does the panel compare to the IPS version? Any other advice on the configuration below would be so appreciated.

Hi there, it will be much easier to read (and therefore more likely to get responses) if you could copy/paste your configuration into the forum. There's a link to do so once you've made a configurator and pressed proceed.

PCS really ought to better publicise they have some Kaby Lake Refresh in stock. I missed that.

It should be fine with mainstream Linxus distros. Most Clevo chassis seems to be, and Coffee Lake's desktop lineup was fine: https://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=article&item=intel-coffee-8700k&num=1

Not too surprising considering how similar to Kaby Lake and Skylake these are.
