Upgrading my memory

Hello

I am looking to add some extra memory to my system, currently have 2x8 and am looking to add another 2x8

the memory I am currently using is Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x 8GB) 3600MHz DDR4 CM4X8GD3600C18K2D but I am struggling to find the same memory anywhere online

I keep coming across Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x 8GB) 3600MHz DDR4 CMK16GX4M2Z3600C18 which has the same speed, clock, latency and voltage but has a different manufacturers code

Does the manufacturers code matter as long as the brand, speed and all spec etc are the same?

Hiya, is this a pcspecialist system?

Could you post your full specs from the order page?

Why are you upgrading RAM, what program is it that requires it?

Hello,

Yes I bought the system from pcspecialist last year

Specs are not very detailed but here they are.

I used CPU-Z and have attached a screenshot showing results.

I was just looking at maybe getting some RGB memory but if not just adding some extra memory

Sorry I miss read what you had said, I thought you asked what program I used to find out memory details.

As for upgrading the memory, which I know isn't necessary at the moment. I am just looking for some feedback on what I could use and if the manufacturers codes have any impact on what I can use if all other specifications are the same.

Go to your orders page, click on the order, then scroll down and click on the upgrade button, there you'll see what's available for your machine, but 16 GB is ample for most games

I cant seem to use it. All i am doing is changing the memory and im getting this error.

The incompatibility error makes no sense as this is my rig

Thats what I mean by its not working. Im not selecting a gpu or cooler only changing the memory and that message pops up

If you look above the message the price is only 50-60quid which is just the memory.

That's the config page though, it's not related to the upgrades section? Where have you gone to to reach that place?

I used the upgrade button after logging in to my account. Then it asked me to select my system which takes me to that screen

That'll be a bug in the configurator I imagine. It's likely difficult to guarantee the fit with your case and problematic with the cooler. You could maybe call PCS to see if they can fix that particular issue.

Regarding the RAM. If you're replacing the RAM entirely (opting for RGB RAM) then it's less complicated to get a compatible set. The most important thing will be whether or not the RAM will fit in the case with the spec selection. Which cooler do you have?
