Upgrading Processor for Windows 11

Hi,

My current Desktop does not meet requirements for upgrading to Windows 11, as shown by PC Health Check. Can you somebody advise me on to what processor I would need upgrade to? The PC is used mainly for working (typical office) and internet browsing.

Despite the 8th & 9th gen CPUs having the same pins and looking like they should work with your motherboard, the B250H motherboard chipset only supports up to 7th gen CPUs.

Your 'easiest' way to get W11on the same PC is to swap the CPU for one of the supported 7th Gen ones...such as the i7-7800X.

Your motherboard has TPM2.0, but may need a BIOS update to run W11.

Your PCS account page may even offer that CPU as an upgrade if they can get their hands on one...otherwise it'll have to be a DIY (£200 new, or as low as £50 second hand).
