USB C Hub Advice

Hi All,

Enjoying my PC specialist Ionico Laptop. But i've come to realise I need more that the single USB C port it has on the back.

Can anyone recommend a good hub that gives additional USB C ports. A lot seem to split to USB A and other additions. I just want to connect up a couple of USB C SSD's and I want to connect to my external monitor as well

Currently to do this, I use a USB C to DP adaptor

Thankyou

Are you sure you mean USB c or thunderbolt as they're 2 different things that use the same port?

Hi @SpyderTracks , ah sorry your right. It is a Thunderbolt I believe on the back. So I guess i want a Thunderbolt hub?
Yep, you'll need thunderbolt then which the laptop has, so that's fine.

The ones to go for are the new Dell modular ones, they're a big expense initially, but they're modular, so the idea is, when you get a new laptop with USB 5 or something, rather than buy a whole new dock, you just slide out the connectivity portion, and slide in the updated one with new generation connectivity sockets

Expansion / Connectivity
Interfaces
  • 2 x display / video - DisplayPort - 20 pin DisplayPort
  • 1 x display / video - HDMI - 19 pin HDMI Type A
  • 2 x Thunderbolt 4 - Thunderbolt
  • 3 x USB 3.2 Gen 1 (
  • 1 x USB-C 3.2 Gen 2/DisplayPort
  • 1 x USB-C 3.2 Gen 2
  • 1 x network - RJ-45
  • Good for power delivery up to 130W

I'm just linking the Dell site for the information and pictures, but for buying, they're way overpriced

There's this site which has extremely high reviews on Trustpilot which is very reputable and has it listed for just under £270

Hello. I'm new here. and also seeking for help. I have a HP laptop with a USB C port. I'm looking for a hub that can connect via this port and links to a monitor via HDMI. I also want it to charge via the USB cable. I'm not too fussed about keyboard and mouse as these are Bluetooth. I've seen a few devices but a lot don't seem to charge the laptop and are focussed on connecting devices. Any advice appreciated. Also as a note I have a Steam Deck on preorder so if it can also support that it would be a bonus but not essential.

Hiya, the forums are for support on PCSpecialist systems only I'm afraid, you may have more luck on an open forum like Toms Hardware.
