Using Elgato, duplicated screen and another laptop to stream CSGO. IS this powerful enough? Budget 900-1000 but this is OVER..

My monitor is BenQ 144hz

I would like to stream CSGO and be able to have high FPS in game..
I also want to use laptop as my stream engine (duplicate screen) and use legato to capture data.

Any advice on what is best to do ?

This is the minimum I'd be comfortable recommending, the advantages of the below system is that it's ready for upgrades straight away. You can add whatever you please to this as you go and it already has enough room and power to take any upgrade you can throw at it.

Personally if I was you I'd be aiming for a 3060Ti in the future and upgrading 1440p 144hz. The 3060Ti will also crush 1080p 240hz if you wanted to go that route as well but in the mean the 1660 Super is a solid 1080p card that should net you 144fps in CSGO

Thank you SteveyG, So if I upgrade to 3060Ti in the future I need 240hz monitor thats what you mean ?

I see what you did there with the storage. Is there a trick to using different SSD ? Or does the pc take both SSD drives collectively into consideration when running?

I mean the prices has just gone up lol!

One M2 NVME drive the smaller one is for the operating system, its just so you can make changes to the OS or completely reinstall it without ever affecting you other files. You won't have to redownload your entire games library again if you ever has to reinstall the OS basically.

Yes if you upgrade the GPU you'll also need to upgrade the monitor. The 3060Ti I'd recommend going to 1440p 144Hz but if you're more into the competitive side then it'll do 1080p 240hz no problem. You would need a monitor that supports these two resolutions and refresh rates though.

Hey you could even go mad and get one of each, play the competitive games on the 1080p monitor and the other games on the 1440p. It just gives you more options.

Should also note that if you do opt for set up above that you will need to specify for your OS to be put on to the 256gb drive (as Im sure @Steveyg intends) - otherwise the configurator will default to the FASTEST drive which is (only just by a bit) the bigger drive.

hi SteveyG,

I hope you are well!

I just wanted to let you know that I have placed an order as per bellow, few changes I think.
When you click on your link with a spec it changes the motherboard to 450 had to change it back to the gaming 550 plus version which worked out a little bit more expensive.
However, I have given the instruction about installing the windows on the 1st drive (256).
I wanted to ask a question, since my windows will be running on the 1st drive, should I run the game on the 2nd drive? if so, how do I make sure that is done? Is there a requirement for me to direct the data storage on the correct drive or does it happen automatically?
In other words, how do I control what storage drive is used for what software?

thank you in advance.

Hi Mate, when you install a game the first thing it will ask is what drive you want to install it on. At this point you can select the drive. Pretty much every single program will be the same.

The build looks solid

Hi @Steveyg

I can still amend things, I was wondering, Do you think it would be a good idea to amend to RTX2060? My monitor would still be fine with that no ? its only 36 pounds when you think of it..

Please let me know as soon as you read it!

Many thanks

Antanas

The two cards are similar but the 2060 is definitely more powerful, it's up to yourself. I'd rather save my money and try and get a 1440p card in the future if it was me though like the 3060Ti or the 3070. Or even wait until next gen Nvidia cards to see what they offer

The 1660 Super is a great 1080p card, it's your call mate

But its only 30 pounds... I think I will upgrade to the RTX.. Then later I will probably have to upgrade both, my monitor and my card since my monitor is only 144..

Also, if you see, my mother board has wifi and there is another wifi attached to this order, what would be the best thing to do in this case? I dont know how the system did not spot this initially..

Sorry mate I don't see the second Wifi card listed in the above?

I'm assuming you mean the AX200 that often recommended? In my opinion I'd rather go with the motherboard with no Wifi and add a AX200 because it also has bluetooth. But if you're on a tight budget just keep the Wifi motherboard and drop the AX200

The motherboard you have selected has integrated Wi-Fi (Wi-Fi 6). You have also selected a Wi-Fi card, but this is less than or equal to the performance of the integrated Wi-Fi. Please remove the Wi-Fi card on your configuration, or select a more powerful Wi-Fi card.

Thats the message I am getting

ok, So I did what you just said. I removed the mother board and choosen exactly the same one with no wifi and I have chosen the AX200, including rtc 2020 that only adds an extra £32
