Video Editing PC - 2023

Hi all,
I’m looking to upgrade my editing suite, buying a new PC.
For peace of mind I have decided to get it from PC Specialist, and I would love a feedback about the following configuration.

I mostly edit events, which footage comes from different cameras - which means different codecs, resolutions and frame rates.
Projects are about 2-3TB, 300-400 files (without proxies).

I often edit multicams, sometimes up to 12 cameras, and despite I use proxies, I want to make sure that the playback is always smooth.

Case: CASE MID TOWER FRACTAL DEFINE 7 + 3x fan CoolerMaster SickleFlow 120

CPU: Processore Intel® Core™ i9-13900KS 24 Core (up tp 6,0 GHz) 36 MB cache

MB: GIGABYTE Z790 UD (LGA1700, USB 3.2, PCIe 5.0) – ARGB-ready!

RAM: DDR5 Corsair VENGEANCE 5600 MHz 96 GB (2 x 48 GB)

GPU: NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 4080 da 16 GB - HDMI, DP, LHR

Main Drive: SAMSUNG 990 PRO M.2 1 TB NVMe PCIe 4.0 (fino a 7450 MB/R, 6900 MB/W)

Power: CORSAIR 1000 W RMx SERIES™ MODULAR 80 PLUS GOLD

Cooling: FrostFlow 360 Series

I already have a 1TB SSD dedicated to the scratch disk of Premiere, but I’m still deciding about the best option for the drive where to store the media I will be editing. So far I used internal HDDs 7200rpm, but I’d like to upgrade. Any suggestions?

I am aware that some choices of hardware are limited to what PC Specialist offers on its website.

Many thanks for your help

Alex
