Video editing pc

I edit on both the machines in my signature quite happily, so a 3060 of some sort will be fine

Thanks for the advice on this. I'm pretty sure this will be good for me.. much better than my dying laptop. Is there anything else I am likely to need?

I have two 1080p monitors.. will they both just plug into the graphics card?

I also have a USB audio interface I use for music production. I shouldn't need anything additional, should I? for basic office work, a bit of undemanding music production and the video editing? I'm just wondering if there is something significant I haven't thought of.

Thanks!
Paul

What interface does it use? Is it Thunderbolt? If it is, you will need to add on the TB card to your build.

Check the cables on the monitors. If they are DP you will be fine, if they are HDMI you may only have one port so may need an adaptor.

Thanks. Sorry, just got back to this. It is a USB interface so I guess it should be fine.

Just check that it's not Thunderbolt. USB-c can be thunderbolt. If it's standard USB then all is fine :)

I've just tried to go through with this. The previously chosen motherboard is not available currently. What would be a good replacement? the Asus Tuf z690?

Hi All
I was advised on a spec.. and I tried to go for it. But the motherboard suggested to me is out of stock. I need to get this new machine ordered asap because my laptop is dying rapidly in this heat...

The ASUS® PRIME B550-PLUS (DDR4, USB 3.2, 6Gb/s) - ARGB Ready! motherboard was recommended. Can anyone recommend a good alternative to work with this spec? https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/saved-configurations/intel-z690-pc/bVKJaNEkPN/

Thanks!!

Paul
I wouldn't suggest the Asus Prime anyway, they're not very good boards imho

Can you copy and paste the full specs?

Damn, so sorry for the big delay, I know you're in a rush to order, got totally side tracked.

I would personally push to the Asus Tuf Z690 Plus D4

IMHO, the B660 boards are priced so high, close enough to the Z690's that there's not enough separation to justify how many features they removed. I would always stick with Z690. The Tuf boards are really good quality while being competitively priced, they're excellent boards.

But that cooler is nowhere near enough for the CPU, you'd need an H115 Capellix I'd suggest. Plus I'd up the PSU to a 1200W for futureproofing.
