I've just watched a cracking documentary about Gilles Villeneuve and Didier Pironi. For anyone else my age who remembers watching Formula 1 in the late 70's and 80's those two names will be very familiar - especially to Ferrari fans.

This is a thoughful, sometimes painful, and honest documentary of two great drivers who never fulfilled their potential.

Senna was the all time great, not just for his racing, but the amount of good he did in Brazil to struggling communities. True gentleman.

Used too have formula Ford, used to be loads of single manufacturer racing series, still get it in sports and endurance car racing, things like the Le Mans series certain classes are restricted to what chassis and engines they can use

That’s also what it feels like when you volunteer to marshal at UK (and Nurburgring) race tracks. The closest you can get to being in the car without wearing Carbonex underwear 🤣
