Just to add @SpyderTracks, what an album X is by Ed Sheeran. Listening right now and it's just a fantastic transition throughout :)
I really admire Ed Sheeran, his first album has extra meaning for me, I think " The A-Team" is a true modern day Sonnet. But he really is a true poet and I admire his fusion of fairly street sounds with more commercial R&B.

I've seen a lot of interviews with him, and he is just so utterly down to earth, it makes it very easy to relate to the lyrics.

He definitely respects vinyl though, each press has extra attention paid to it, and he really likes pushing special releases, usually in coloured vinyl. If you ever find his pressings on coloured vinyl, snap them up because they become extremely collectible. But they're always great sounding records.

I’m hovering over a purchase of the twelve inch of Elephant Stone by The Stone Roses as it’s one of my all time favourite singles (and Reni’s drumming is absolutely off the chain!) but I’m absolutely knackered and have banned myself from making any more purchases whilst I’m tired or have had a drink. They’re never sensible purchases. I’m going to approach it fresh tomorrow 👍

Very good idea sir, let a fresh perspective guide you.

That’s not what I want to hear. I need you guys as the devils on my shoulder… ‘buy it, buy it now!’

I seem to be able to get away with a lot with Mrs C if I blame it ‘on the forum’ 😜
I'm evil when it comes to any kind of buying power, I get a thrill over other people spending money just as much as if I'm shedding the green.

Don't do it, let capitalism die for a day, socialism wins!

What's the rough ballpark of the record?
Only around £20, but no pics of the record itself and description as ‘in good condition’.

It’s one of those odd situations, I’ll still probably listen to it via FLAC almost 99% of the time but it’d be so nice to have it available on vinyl as and when the mood strikes.

Where's it from? Is it discogs?

It’s EIL, not one I’m particularly familiar with. Is this the point where your Spydey senses start tingling and find me a bargain?

Well, the understood modern grading guides which I'm sure you know are either the discogs:
Mint
Near Mint
Very Good +
Very Good
Good+
Good
Fair
Poor

Or there's the older standard of
Mint
Ex +
Ex
Ex -
VG+
VG
VG-
G
F
P

So either way, good is pretty low, you really want very good + or above IMHO

Have you checked discogs? Is it a rare record?

There's an original 1988 German issue Maxi 12" single on Discogs, with shipping from Germany it's just over at about £24, but I've always found German sellers to be really good graders, and this guy has 100% positive feedback

I'm a sucker for Discogs, it tends to yield stable positive results

Ooooo, so this just got announced by Quincy Jones on Twitter, too good to miss out on.

Not only is it a lovely collection, but Vinyl Me Please are the US equivalent of Bandcamp, they're entirely artist focussed and tend to do really high quality pressings. For this 6 of the albums have lacquers cut from the original masters by Ryan Smith at Sterling Sound in the US and Barry Grint now at Air Studios, but famously worked at Abbey Road in his heyday. They're both celebrated mastering artist worldwide.

The other 2 albums are done from high res digital files so not great, but I'll accept.

But what a lovely boxset.

Bad sides are VMP are US based so have to pay the 20% import tax on top, plus due to the weight, shipping cost is high at $50

Too good to miss

My Seven Lions - Ophelia Volume 2 boxset arrived. They sold out within a couple of hours on the site

Feeling a little tender as have the flu of man upon me (have taken covid test which came back negative) so not in the mood for anything too aggressive which his stuff can often be, but this is actually rather nice.

He's a weird artist, you can go from Happy Hardcore to Trance to Breakbeat to Dubstep all within the same track, it get's a little confusing at times, but he must be mellowing in his old age, this is far more melodic, and more settling on a trancey vibe.

I don't know what kind of music this is, but the box and the vinyl are really a piece of art !
Yeah, they're really nice sets, I've got volume 1 as well and they're both really high quality. They're expensive to buy as a result, but it's such a good collection that I don't see that as an issue.

It comes with a beautifully done booklet with all the song lyrics as well which is just really nicely done, the guy also does digital imagery, he's quite famous for his artwork:

This is the volume 1 vinyl, the quality of the boxset is exactly the same just a slightly different design on the cover:

You're definitely getting more than just the music, it's a real collectors piece and even for collectible stuff, it's quite unusual.

The Thrillseekers - Reconnected Classics

I ordered this on April 2nd! Just arrived this morning. So worth the wait though.

This is a compilation he's just put together in a series of "Reconnected" 2 disk albums. I've got them all to date and there are more on the way.

This one is significant because most of the releases are only available on record on singles, and most of them are valued in the £100 region.

Very unlike an artist to do this. Gotta love Steve!

EDIT: Just finishing it, can't stop smiling like the Joker.
