Vortex II 15.6" AMD 6990m - (AMD HDMI Output Not Plugged In)

I received this laptop in September and now have only decided to plug in an external monitor.

Just carried out a fresh rebuild to start solving this issue as when I place either a monitor connected via HDMI/DVI-D to this laptop it doesn't detect them.

So I've carried out a fresh build installed all the drivers form the CD that came from PCspecialist.

Still same thing looking through the user manual I found that as put in the Title 'AMD HDMI Output Not plugged in' located in 'Sound - Hardware)

I've tried to different monitors 2 different HDMi cables and 2 different DVI-D cables can anyone please help?

It's incredibly frustrating,

Please Note: No Microsoft Updates have been carried out yet.

Please Help

Kind Regards Josh

Download and install the latest catalyst drivers from here rather than the outdated ones that are on that CD.

Then get the latest realtek HD drivers from here

Then make sure your chipset drivers are up-to-date using the Intel driver detection utility on their support page

Also, if you haven't already, try plugging the display in before you turn your laptop on. For reasons unknown, my old Acer 6920G sometimes wouldn't recognise my 42" LG TV unless it was already plugged when I turned it on.

Sorry im not with my laptop at the moment but i had this problem yesterday. When i closed the laptop lid and it was plugged into the Monitor it came on just be chance I then opened it and it switched back to the monitor on the Vortex. I then pressed Function F4 maybe its the one with 2 boxes on it that is supposed to represent monitor and laptop monitor. Try that and see if it does anything for you.
