Vortex III 15" Caps lock help!

At first I just ignored it, but now i am close to the edge of going into a hulk rage!

Every time I use the caps lock on my laptop a small notification pops up that I have enabled/disabled the caps lock function, that's fine, no problem. The problem is when the notification is fading out it completely stops all typing functions for about a second or two, not long, but incredibly frustrating when you have to keep stopping and starting when writing even the smallest of paragraphs!

How do I turn this notification off???!

None of those answers seem to work as the vast majority of those people have store bought machines and there problems are linked with what seems to be, Dell!

it seems as though my problem is related to hotkey (cant access settings for it) and/or a different driver installed by pc specialist, what I want to determine is where the hell I can late it so I can disable it forever!

There are a few solutions in that thread that are generic not just for Dell machines.

The easiest one is the below, have you tried this?

- Open Control Panel/Ease of Access Center.

- Select the Make the Keyboard easier to use item.

- Remove the check marks from Turn on Toggle Keys and Turn on Toggle Keys by holding down the NUM LOCK key for 5 seconds.

- Click Apply/OK.

None of the above work for me either. Opening the hotkey executable and monitoring the registry keys and files it attempts to access suggests that its possibly configurable in two ways.

1.) It looks for c:\program files(x86)\hotkey\hotkey.exe.config but doesn't find one.
2.) It looks in HKCU\software\hotkey\ and there are a series of keys in there that control various aspects7

However without documentation, i'm down to trying blindly or optionally attempting to reverse engineer the damn thing.

I'm posting this to as many people as possible because it was a mission for me to find but if you want to get rid of the popup Right clicking on the hotkey icon in the idden items tray allows you to click "K/B Indicator" thus turning off the caps lock notification. It still occurs for airplane mode and screen brightness but solves my issue. Pretty simple fix in the end. But super frustrating thinking there wasn't a fix!!

Hey guys, just adding on to what bwizz said. My hotkey window doesn't have a K/B Indicator button, but I found that simply leaving this window open turns off the irritating notifications.
