Hey there !!

Thanks very much for all the data you gave us ! I'm thinking of buying a Vyper too, and I still got a couple of questions, maybe you can answer those ? (not sure though).
Do you know what the power limit allowed by PCSpecialist for this specific laptop is ? 90 W ? 120 W ?
I'd also like to know wether you've checked DPC latencies for this model depending on the power profile ?

According to HWiNFO64 it's 120W

DPC latency would remain around 1800-2000, which seems quite bad. I tried disabling various devices, but this had no effect. Do you know how this could be improved?

What are you using it for?

I was asked to check DPC latencies under different power profiles, but I'm not sure what that means.
It has fallen down to 1000μs after a while.

Should I be worried?

One of the usual suspects, the most common : nvidia drivers. Well, not the drivers per se but all the other software, telemetrics, etc.
Sometimes the drives but with the Samsung it wouldn't be the case.
A lot of power plans in windows too (like USB suspend). There are ways to get better DPC latency (but not necessarily "good"), but unless you're a sound engineer or a musician (I'm both and I intend to use this machine for work when I'm out of the studio), I wouldn't recommend those tricks because they kinda cripple the portability of your system (obviously).

Not at all, those results are quite ok, especially as you didn't apply any kind of fix. Seems good.

EDIT : and yeah, what Spydertracks said.

Not at all, the only area it’s relevant is for live music production.

Thank you both :)
This is the first time I've heard to DPC latency so I was a bit worried. Switching from the integrated graphics to dedicated graphics did cause an increase in DPC latency so that's partly responsible.

Hi i bought a vyper 17,3'' few week ago. Any of you have the keyboard backlight resetting at every startup? im on bios 1.03 ec version 1.09.00.00
this is frustrating to be honest. changing various version of control center didn't solve the problem. i have to manually turn on keyboard light and bottom light bar at every startup or reboot

Hey there,

I got the same VYPER 17.3, I bought 2 weeks ago.
I would like to ask you about the microphone, because when I talk to my friends via Skype or Discord, they hear me very very poorly.

I have the same: Sound Card 2 Channel High Definition Audio + MIC/Headphone Jack.

Thanks in advance.

Are you not using a headset if you're on discord?
