Warranty Pc Bricked

Hi All, I would be grateful for some advice and help regarding my 7 month old Packard Bell Imedia S2190 PC which is under warranty, I recently got a notification from Packard Bell regarding a Bios update to install that was to improve start up issues with my particular model, as soon as I installed it the PC Bricked with black screen with a " no signal" message, followed by 9 short beeps, it switches on but thats it, no access from any quarter. I reported it to PB, they sent me to PC World from where I purchased it, they have looked at it and said that the 9 short beeps means the Bios is corrupted, they have checked it and have confirmed the Bios is indeed beyond redemption. Packard Bell have said that the mobo needs replacing and have added its not their update at fault because there has been no update for this model and told me to look at their download site to see for myself and sure enough there is none....so....my mistake, I seemed to have foolishly installed a nasty without first checking the validity, I dunno how someone could have known what make PC I was running for them to send me a duff install but there you have it. So.... I need help finding a replacement mobo, the old mobo is a DAFT3L KELIA MB 12088-1M, its AMD A4 CPU is soldered to the mobo so it a real cheapo, can anyone here suggest a replacement and or where I can source something. Thanks for any help.

Popups and malware seem to do this very easily. As I guess you know now, always beware.

Since PC Specialist sell PCs, I think users on these forums are generally encouraged against asking about parts for self-builds/ other companies' PCs and so forth.

In your position I would be tempted to press the vendor/system builder (depending on where the warranty tells you to go) harder on the issue. They might not budge, but a polite but persistent approach might make them reconsider.

You may want to check forums such as http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/index.php to get some informal advice on consumer rights. If you decide to replace it yourself, somewhere like Tom's Hardware might be able to tell you where to source this stuff.
