Ways to extend battery life?

Hi,

I've had my laptop for about a month now and the battery life is ok at a couple of hours but wondered if people had any advice on how to extend it? I've done the usual things like reduce screen brightness and gone for most of the maximum power saving options in the customised battery plan. I also try to put everything on the solid state disk drive so the main hard drive isn't spinning and being used all the time.

I use the laptop for general internet use then tend to plug in for processing photos etc. For example, can you tell the laptop to use the onboard graphics rather than the dedicated graphics card (and would this save power anyway?).

i know with the laptops with nvidia cards you can switch to the onboard graphics. However, I have no idea about AMD cards. I'd probably give PCS a call/email/live chat to find out.

Unless one of the guys has a decent suggestion.
