I want to get all of the following at some point, I just would like recommendations as some I can't buy from pcspecialist.
Case - my current case is a Fractal Design Focus G
CPU cooler - I currently have a stock amd cooler but i plan to get a ryzen 7 5800x which certainly doesn't run cool.
RAM - not a necessity but I feel it would be nice to have 32gb (currently have 16gb 3200mhz)
RGB lights - haven't got any currently, so I'm open to suggestions

I was looking at a 4000D case or a iCue 220t

Thanks

Since these forums belong to PCSpecialist, I'm afraid we cannot help with self-builds or competitor builds
You may find somewhere like the Toms Hardware website useful though

Or is this upgrades to a PCS machine you do have?

Firstly, what do you use the computer for?

What monitor do you use, what resolution and refresh rate or make and model if you're unsure?

Why the extra RAM? What program is it that's requiring more?

Likewise with the other upgrades, what is it you're looking to achieve?

Gaming and working, mostly CoD warzone

ASUS TUF Gaming VG279Q1A 27” 165 hz 1ms 1080p

er not really sure I just get annoyed when im running games such as warzone and it puts my ram on 90% usage ish so just want to be able to do other things while having warzone open - but its really not necessary to have more i suppose

What do you mean by work? You need to be specific?

Again, you have to be more specific, what other things do you want to do?

Oh nothing intensive really just Word and Excel

I don't think there are any other things really I want to achieve right now, I'm fine with the graphics at the moment, just maybe a bit of speed in the system. I would also like it to look a bit nicer, the pc and the case, as the only rgb is the cooler right now

Ok, it's not going to be easy to advise without knowing your requirements. What do you mean by "maybe a bit of speed in the system"? Where are you seeing poor performance?

Basically, if you upgrade the CPU, you void your warranty. Same with the case, so I wouldn't recommend it.

Without knowing what you want to run concurrently on top of gaming, it's impossible to advise on weather you need more RAM. When playing a game it's best practice to close every other program as they will all bog down the system. But RAM doesn't add performance in any way, adding more does absolutely zero, all it does is IF THERE'S A PROGRAM THAT REQUIRES that extra RAM, it will keep performance at the same level. From what you've said though, there doesn't seem any need for any more RAM, certainly not for gaming.

There is also a known bug in Windows 11 in case you've upgraded to that which causes a memory leak. Make sure you've applied all windows udpates if you're on 11.

But upgrading RAM is not going to improve system performance at all.

This is what comes of not getting advice on speccing a build unfortunately.

Alright, but if I were to upgrade the case, ignoring warrenty, would the 220t be good? I also need pc lights so any suggestions would be great
Also is there any way that I can use aRGB, maybe through USB, with the motherboard im using?

I would suggest the 4000D, it's a bigger step up, the 220t is not an upgrade, in fact in airflow it's a downgrade.

You can get RGB fans and replace the case fans and add additional ones to the roof etc. Corsair ML's or LL's are the general favorite. You would need a Commander Core or Lighting Node Pro additionally to control them through iCue. Costs a lot of money.

But we can't advise further if you're going to break your warranty as it's not in your best interests, you would need to get advice from an open forum like Toms Hardware or somewhere, and be sure that you understand that if anything were to go wrong, you'd not be able to RMA it with PCS. You'd have to fix it yourself and cover any costs yourself.
