Will this be OK for word processing and playing Solitaire?

There a few suggestions to be made, but I'll leave that to some of the experienced techs. To help them out:
What monitor will you be pairing the PC with. Model number or resolution and refresh rate?
Budget, what's your max spend?
What types of video quality do you edit and what games are played?

I use a SWEDX 28" 4K and a pair of 27" 1080p Philips 273V5s. I edit digital images taken at 4K, and play Fallout 4 when I'm bored. I also keep a LOT of browser windows open, which is why I went for slower, but more, RAM.

I was wondering about changing the SSD for an M2. I'm not really familiar with M2, but I'm guessing that would work as a Windows drive and give better performance than a SATA one.

It definitely will but theres also a few other bits you'll likely want to change.
I'm sure you're eager to order but It's still early, the suggestions I see made on here are fantastic.
There all done by enthusiast volunteers so they will respond when they can but its worth getting the feedback before ordering

Well, I already have ordered, but it's still in pre-production so changing a couple of bits shouldn't slow me down too much. If you have any suggestions go ahead.

TBH I would cancel the build and start over.

It's a poor platform, AMD would be much better for your uses.

I considered AMD, but I went down that rabbit hole once before so I'm somewhat wary. Why would AMD be better for my uses?
Because it’s about double the performance for the same money, plus intel chips are plagued with security flaws and each time they’re patched they lose for their performance.

Don't base previous experience of AMD with who they are now, since Lisa Su took over in 2015 they are a COMPLETELY different company.

AMD vs Intel, for your uses, there's just no comparison, AMD absolutely destroys intel.
