Is this a PCSpecialist machine? Can you post your full specs from the order page?

Since these fora belong to PCS Specialist, who sell custom built PCs and laptops, we can't offer advice on other builds I'm afraid.

That said, it your son's PC was working and now it's not then something has changed. Often this is a software change, and if 'nothing will launch' but it does boot into Windows then that sounds very much like a software issue to me.

Have you installed any Windows updates? Have you installed any new software? Have you made any configuration changes? Have you run a registry cleaner (that's always a bad idea)? If you can figure out what you did just before it failed then that will be your problem.

How does it crash? Is there an error message, a stop code? Google that if there is.

If nothing else works consider either a factory reset (if the PC has such a feature) or a clean install of Windows and start again.

As mentioned already, for more detailed help a more general forum like Tom's Hardware will be your best option. :)
