Windows is not activated?

Hey all, I'm new here and also new to the desktop scene as I've been using laptops forever!

Today I purchased a PC specialist desktop new, and so far everything has been great. until I got greeted with the activate windows watermark.

I went into settings and it's saying "We can't activate windows on this device because you don't have a valid digital licence or product key. If you think you do have a valid licence or key, select Troubleshoot below. Error code: 0xC004C003"

I have clicked troubleshoot, and it asks me if I have recently changed hardware on this device. If I click this, it shows me my old laptop name, I can only assumed its linked via the microsoft login?

The PC was sold with Windows 10 Home included, and also has a Windows sticker on the case, but I can't find a licence key anywhere.
Any help would be appreciated, just want to make sure I'm not missing something simple before contacting Currys / PC Specialist experts direct!

Many thanks, Grant!

What recovery media did you get with it? Was it the digital/online service?
Have you read the booklets that came with it? What do the instructions say about when you first setup?

The windows license is linked to the BIOS, it's not a specific key like it used to be that's on any label or anything.

If you logged in with a microsoft account that already had a key linked with it, it's possible it's mistakenly tried to assign that key to your new PC, which it shouldn't do.

I'd contact PCS, they'll need to detach the laptop key from it and reset it back to the previous key.

Thank you mr Spydertracks. After posting this I did a forum search & found others have had similar issues, I will phone them in the morning and hope to get it sorted. Thank you for your time :)
