Xenon Laptop question

Hi There

I am looking to purchase a sub 2kg laptop similar to the Xenon option and have a few questions, while, I love the fact that you can configure the PCS laptops to your desired Spec without costing the earth (a concern as an alternative option is an I7 8Gb Sony VPC Z at around £1700+) are there any plans to offer 1600*900 screen on the Xenon? The computer will be used heavily with programs such as Coreldraw and Photoshop so a bright clear screen with colour reproduction is important, and I am not sure how good the xenon screen is at this?
Also are there any plans to offer the i7 quad core processors and independent graphics card options on the xenon?

The Engima 3 is a possible option and seems to have a good screen, but is it slightly too big to be comfortably portable (size and weight)? also what is the battery life and fan noise like on it?

Any information will be gratefully received :)

Welcome to our forums :)

Unfortunately we only provide the Xenon with a choice of glossy at matte HD screen - we don't offer resolutions about 1366 x 768.

Due to the nature of the chassis we cannot provide a dedicated graphics card, and we only offer dual core CPUs on this chassis.

I am thinking of buying a Xenon for mainly work use with a fair bit of photoshop use to replace a Sony S series (quite old, limited to 2Gb RAM). Naturally suspicious how PC specialist can provide a top spec laptop for about 50% of the price of Sony/Tosh equivalents. Does anyone have any comments about quality battery life or anything else about the Xenon?

its because sony and dell etc are overpriced, not because PCS is too good to be true, if you bought the parts you wanted and built it, it would be around the same price as here (slightly less as you pay for it to be built here), then dell or sony just put a pointless £400+ on top of that price

with dell and sony your paying for the brand, same reason why apple sell macbooks at 2k~ when i just ordered something more powerfully for £700.

PCS are great with prices and they actual care with big companys its all profit.

no Apple is for the OS, which is not available on any other brand of computers, and if people need this OS, they will be willing to pay, on many points, Apple actually works out better value than a Sony laptop, as they offer some pretty high spec parts

Most of the poeple with apple laptops get it for the name and they over charge cause of there brand. and there not better value you can find much cheaper laptops with much higher specs, if you want a i7 quad core your looking at atleast 1.5k were are most companys offer it from around £800 so I really dont see how its better value.

There are people who actual need it but for the most of part its just cause its apple.

HAHA that is completely wrong, yes there are many people who get it for the name but 90% of macs are used for industry, i know a majority of game developers will work on macs and same with video editing as well as photo editing etc, majority of computer based industries will be based around mac computers, hopefully frenchy posts here, he will back me up, and trust me, he knows all
