I would not do it without first asking PCS to ensure that it's fully compatible. Can I install the xmg Neo Control Center?

Ah, didn’t realise that, thanksYes, I believe Alstone and Tongfang are basically the same company.

That’s what the laptop supports, yeah, but you need RAM that’s compatible with autoclockingIt says up to 5600 MHz.
I'm not 100% sure, but I believe Alstone builds TongFang chassis under license, similar to how Mercedes produces small displacement engines heavily based on Nissan-Renault designs, with Mercedes components and labeled as Mercedes.Ah, didn’t realise that, thanks
Gotcha, there's definitely a connection of some form, weather TongFang have rebranded entirely, or as you say, some kind of licensing agreement.I'm not 100% sure, but I believe Alstone builds TongFang chassis under license, similar to how Mercedes produces small displacement engines heavily based on Nissan-Renault designs, with Mercedes components and labeled as Mercedes.![]()
Yeah, the OP ordered without OS: I studied German for three years at school and remember next to nothing, but betriebssystem is operating system. Also if you ordered without an OS (I can't tell from the order output) you can't use the test windows, you have to clean install your own copy of windows, the test environment isn't configured and won't work properly.
That’s exactly right. The Kingston Fury Impact 32GB 6000Mhz RAM kit used by the OP is an XMP profile type, whereas the 5600Mhz kit is a plug-and-play profile type.

So, if I understand well, the 6000MHz kit will not autoclock and can only be tuned through an unlocked BIOS, but the 5600MHz kit will automatically set to the maximum frequency allowed by the system without the need for manual settings.
What RAM clocking section are you referring to? When I used Control Center there was never any option for tuning/clocking/tweaking RAM. Even in an unlocked BIOS you can't overclock RAM higher than 5600mhz on these boards. Not even sure you can overclock slower RAM up to 5600mhz. I followed a guide extensively and it simply doesn't work. Only drawback with my Recoil 17, but that's only because gamers say 6000mhz is ideal for gaming. That’s exactly right.
It is very possible if the OS hasn’t been clean installed then perhaps the RAM clocking section of Control Center isn’t being correctly displayed as the OS isn’t configured
Im not certain, I just know on previous models it’s always been autoclocking RAM sticks.
It may be best for @M.H to verify the RAM control with PCS

My BIOS version is N.1.10A11 EC Version 1.17.
Could somebody tell me if this is the most up to date BIOS and EC. I have the 14900hx which is known to have high Core VID spikes which could damage the CPU. It would be very comforting to know if I have everything up to date.

That is normal; different SIs have different BIOS and are most likely incompatible with each other.Had a Medion before but I couldn't get the XMG Neo to flash and ended up bricking the laptop.
Unfortunately, that is mostly an INTEL issue, as the 14th generation is DOA (yes, including the mobile chips, which are the same flawed silicon wafer as the desktop chips), and the external liquid cooler was required to prevent that, despite being marked as optional.People shouldn't have to flash a BIOS to stop their machine thermal throttling. This, they understood. I had to pay Pcspecialist extra to stop the thermal throttling, as even undervolting the CPU wouldn't get rid of the constant throttling.
I learned that the hard way. I had a meltdown when it happened, end of days stuff. Very fortunate to get the refund. That is normal; different SIs have different BIOS and are most likely incompatible with each other.
NEVER flash a BIOS unless it is provided by your SI.

The CPU is unlocked, but on laptops, everything is determined by the SI: some more premium brands write their own BIOS, which is usually unlocked, while others simply utilise the OEM's BIOS, which is almost always locked.I understand the Intel stuff, to a degree. It really takes the biscuit when the ads say unlocked HX CPU, when they know fully well that it's locked down. I would only recommend a ryzen laptop I think. Although I love my machine, the need for the cooler makes portability non existent. It's more of a gaming station than a laptop. You cannot have this laptop on your lap because of the cooler. Performance is awesome though, and the girlfriend is happier that I no longer game when at hers.
