Is this for a PCSpecialist build?I want to get a Z390 motherboard but i can't find information about Linux compatibility. Are standard Z390 motherboards (such as Gigabyte Z390 UD) generally compatible with Linux? And is there anywhere where this information is available?

Pretty much for any build, AMD is a better platform with better features and just as good single threaded performance with vastly better multithreaded performance."Almost always these days, an AMD build makes much more sense"
Do you mean just for Linux, or is AMD better in general?
Im looking at Z390 because i want a decent gaming PC, which can dual-boot Windows and Linux.

Agree with Spydertracks, AMD are streets ahead at the moment, it it were a race, AMD v Intel would be a bit like Usain Bolt against me and I walk with crutches
AMD have been very good and sorting 'nix issues since the Ryzens came into being, there were some but fixed in a week or less normally. If you have not seen this site it is very useful for news on Linux in general: https://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=home
The 3700x but it’s an awful lot betterThanks that phoronix site is what I was looking for.
Regarding AMD, which of their processors is the most similar to an Intel i7?
