Can't decide on components....HELP D:

Hey guys this is my first time posting on here so here we go!

Decided to get myself a new PC ready for the upcoming releases so I was wondering If i could get some help with this build:

Processor (CPU)
i7-6700k

Motherboard
ASUS Maximus VIII HERO

RAM
16gb HyperX savage DDR4 3000MHz

Graphics Card:
GTX 1080

Thats what I've got with regards for core components but just a few questions:
1. Is there any other motherboard you guys think would suit this better
and 2. Is the i7-6800k worth getting over the i7-6700k? Obviously I know the 6800k has more cores blah blah blah but is it really worth it over the 6700k?

Cheers guys and any other suggestions on builds with a i7-6800k that fall under the 1.9k mark would be great :)

It's mainly just the motherboard I need a bit of advice with guys which one would work best with this setup? And also will I be getting the most I possibly can out of these components or are there better options?

Its a case of the ASUS Maximus VIII HERO vs gigabyte z170x gaming 3 vs ASUS Z170 PRO GAMING ATX, which is better?

Better for what? Extreme tweaking, the Hero is probably best. I went for the Ranger as I like to tweak and there is so little difference from the hero/

I assume it is for gaming, if that's the case any motherboard will do the job. The define X1 in the review section is good value for money for £1500 with the gtx 1080.

Both those boards are designed for extreme overclocking and Multi (3 way) SLI. If you're not doing either of those things, you can happily chose a cheaper board such as the z170e or Pro-gaming.
