Hi,
I recently bought a Defiance III Laptop and just tried to install a Tecknet HS800 headset (admittedly i went for cheap crap).
I plugged it in, followed all the instructions i.e. adding the drivers / software for windows 10 from the supplied CD.
The lights worked, volume buttons on the chord worked but no sound came through at all.
I tried all the windows 10 fixes i could find online, i.e. disabling speakers and setting the headset as default speakers etc etc.
My Samsung headphones from my phone work fine through the normal headphone jack.
I just tried installing the headset on my work computer (windows 7) and they worked straight out of the box, i didn't check if the 7.1 worked but there was at least stereo sound coming through.
I'm concerned it could be a sound card or USB issue. My sound card is as per the below:
Sound Card: Intel 2 Channel High Def. Audio + MIC/Headphone + SoundBlaster X-Fi MB3
And USB's:
4 x USB 3.0 PORTS AS STANDARD (although i can only find 3 and they are all marked as 3.1???).
One other thing which is also weird.
I had a crappy cheap wireless mouse from Asda which i had installed in the USB on the right side of my laptop - this worked perfectly fine.
I bought a new wireless mouse with better DPI/more buttons and when plugged into this USB it says that the device is not recognised.
However, it works in the 2 on the left side (I've got absolutely no idea where the 4th USB is located).
Anyone offer any advice on either of these issues?
Thanks in advance,
Dale.
