These moderators are hilarious, getting hurt over the smallest things and deleting threads for "Not being related to PCS".

Was totally related, I'm sharing my experience, informing of my decisions and helping people to do the same.

Ridiculous censorship, and quite pathetic.
What a rather naive comment.

any forum related to a commercial entity, will very rarely allow anything related to a competitor on its forum.

That is both negative or positive.

Yes people can go to other sites, yes they can order without a card and source their own.

I have seen teenagers with better commercial acumen

They are neither immature or ego-maniacs (that's what a" bit of an ego" in this context reads as)...and, for those of us who have been here longer than a few weeks or months, they have an excellent reputation. Yes, maybe the odd comment here and there shouldn't have been posted....but you have to bear in mind they are volunteers who do not get paid and have had to deal with abuse, insults, people spreading wrong information on an almost daily basis for the last 3 months....I bet anyone complaining about them wouldn't have any patience at all to do their job. Perhaps you think the forum would be better if there were no moderators? Let everyone have a free-for-all and post whatever they like?

Being a moderator on here currently seems to be 99% being hated and 1% being appreciated for the "unpaid" job you do. Frankly, I am amazed any of the moderators still choose to visit here and attempt to help people. I have been very active on here for some time and enjoying spending my free time helping people but I have stepped back from the forum as it is not a pleasant place any more.
99% bad to 1% good. I work in a lab and that sort of data point tells you all you need to know. Like I said reputation.

The mods on here are pretty amazing people, helping out all posters on all sorts of subjects. When all of us disappear for a while happily using the PC's they recommend they will still be here, week in week out. I think that is often forgotten, they see the likes of us come and go while they stick at it. Very admirable

That and when people with pcs systems encounter a problem or want to upgrade it or various other reasons.

Being a MOD on a forum is often a thankless job.

I am waiting for that ironic moment one of the Bleaters comes back with ‘received my 3080 system and RGB problem, can I have help’

Today is officially my 50th Queueday, and since I'm a generous soul, I'm going to give everyone a cake, which you'll have to share.

I'd prefer my desktop pc, as I imagine most would here on the thread eagerly awaiting their rtx 3080s, in all the various shapes and forms that may come in but I'll settle for cake, lots and lots of cake, to tide me over!

I think the numbers they give out are rubbish. No way pc specialist has more orders than scan for a 5900x they told me it was in thousands
I know PCS told me I was 703/1356 last week, but that was just in regards to rtx 3080 not the 5900X. Guessing the queue position R1Z mentioned is just for the GPU.

While it would be nice to have the desktop come sooner, was hoping it's come before Xmas, I've ended up becoming more relaxed about the whole situation. It's not ideal and seems there are issues in not only logistics, but actual manufacturing, missing components to even make the GPUs. Samsung, Nvidia, hell to then whomever PCS are wholesale purchasing them from.

Then adding in the bots, scalpers, just all a big mess.

I have taken some time to look around, I have considered maybe sitting in watch-lists for if a suitable RTX 3080 would appear but gotten to the point I'll enjoy my desktop from PCS when it finally arrives.

Hell, I had a weird dream this morning, semi-lucid in those moments before actually waking up that my desktop had gone into building, that somehow there was a note on my order showing it was a Zotac GPU they'd sourced for my build.

Just a dream though!

Regardless, I look forward to my desktop and all the games I'll be able to play and enjoy all the more, because I'll be honest, I'll just be playing, recording and streaming video games on it during my free time.

I asked about my queue position for the stock 3080 in the live chat a couple of days ago, and the guy told me they didn't have any information on queue positions for specific parts. So now I'm doubting my own sanity.

I am seriously considering cancelling my order. Without a clear indication and stock information, we could be waiting till March. And with Brexit being around the corner who knows what sort of issues the ports will have. The backlogs, queues, the red tape..etc. If things really go south in regards to goods import, we'll be lucky to get our builds by May..

Even the poor guys in customer services cant tell you how long you will have to wait. Which I find extremely disturbing. If a company doesn't know how much stock they are getting, when they are getting it and for how long that stock will continue coming in, I am not too sure If I want to trust them with my £2500. And come April, the financial new year, what if they go under either due to financial stress of Brexit or Covid or due to financial void caused by cancellations simply because people got tired of waiting ? What happens to our money then ?

So watch out for those queues. You may soon jump up by one :)

I just asked in the live chat about queue positions and they said that information given regarding queues is either false or misunderstood. So I am unsure how reliable those queue figures are.

Hoping to bring some light to this situation, I have been trying to buy my own 3000 series card. Shedding blood, sweat and tears providing around the clock support. Here is the answer from purchasing and I thought it was worth a laugh.

Our purchasing team is working around the clock, we are pursuing every channel, every supplier, and every corner of the GPU void. It is dry, it's empty and man is it tough to communicate this to customers who have been waiting so damn long!

This is not taking in to account the hours sacrificed from home life for our production staff, we have a double shift going into the early hours, overtime going into Sundays when we only operate Monday-Friday. I am currently in the office under strict COVID restrictions to train many new members of staff to ensure that our response times lower and our quality improves, many sacrifices are being made and we are doing it because we take a lot of pride in what we do.

With the greatest of respects, we are not holding your money hostage, it is difficult to have these funds in limbo especially at this specific time of the year. But we will absolutely aim to get the machine to you whenever possible, we will not provide estimations that could be wildly inaccurate as we have found this to be counterproductive, if the supplier is not revealing anything then we cannot possibly do the same.

I have personally been auditing all 3000 series orders to ensure that they maintain a steady order, that we are not prioritising customers if they complained more than the other. We are in this together and you have purchased goods under the understanding that it isn't guaranteed for Christmas, it sounds harsh and I really mean this in a positive light, but your patience will be rewarded and all we can ask for is your patience.

Our success is overwhelming since early March and you are welcome to play the smallest violin for the team, but as a super nerd at heart and a competitive gamer for many years, I feel your pain and we are working as hard as we can to make progress on these orders.

And just remember, we can't even play Cyberpunk 2077 without DLSS ON and RT turned OFF.
