Hi hope someone can help I bought a 15" Defiance with NVIDA 2060 card. The laptop seems to be running on the intel graphics by default. Is there a way of changing this?

It sounds like windows isn't configured.
Can you post your full specs from the order page? Have you reinstalled windows at any time?

So to install windows, you need to clean install again, then run windows updates to install all drivers where possible, any remaining you need to get from www.clevo.com.tw as the ones in your account will be out of date.
Then manually install nvidia drivers direct from nvidia and finally install control center direct from clevo.

Can you just define what you mean by using the iGPU by default. Do you mean its using the iGPU when in Windows or do you mean when you boot games its still using the iGPU?

Both graphic cards are present and working, games and photoshop are using the nvidia card but i think that windows is using the intel integrated graphics I was wondering if I can get the laptop to use just the Nvidia graphics

So that's perfectly normal behaviour its a power saving feature, plus it reduces the use on the dGPU (Nvidia) theoretically increasing its life span.
You should be able to change it by booting into BIOS. There will be a setting in there somewhere which will say something along the lines of graphic settings or GPU mode. Switch it from MSHybrid mode to Discrete mode.
This will then switch to the Nvidia GPU permanently. I would however only recommend doing that if your laptop has a G-Sync monitor (because G-Sync only works in Discrete mode). Unless you have some other specific reason for doing it?

Thanks for that, my other laptop has G-Sync and the graphics are only run on the Nvidia card. My new laptop the one I'm querying is running both GPUs which thanks to your input is correct. I thought there was a problem that, I now know doesn't exist so many Thanks! Stay Safe!

Think speakers are a problem in most laptops, not the room to put anything really good, although those on the Octane and Nova I have had were ok for watching a film.
Agree with Nursemorph, best option is to get a set of speakers or sound bar. Worth keeping an eye on Amazon Prime sales, have seen some decent stuff there and not too expensive.

Hi I've been fettling with the sound blaster thingy and I've managed to get it almost right, and I will be connecting by Bluetooth to my Roberts Radio, BTW the roberts radio is absolutely top banana!

Ah, ok … it's a Logitech Laptop Speaker (bar) Z205. I went though a fair few speaker bars before finding this little gem, and for such a small thing it's rather stunning the sound it delivers. As good as, if not better than the MANY small desktop speakers I've used over the years, and only the one small USB wire to hook up.
Granted, there may well be Bluetooth speakers around now, that have the added advantage of no wires at all to deal with, and just as good sound quality.
Unfortunately Logitech don't seem to make them anymore, but you can pick them up second hand sites (as I did mine) if you keep an eye out for one.
