Phone hotspot tethering not working.

Hi, I bought my new pc a couple of weeks ago, didn't have too much issue other than coil whining. My router internet is scuffed at the moment so I've been trying to plug my iphone into my PC and activate the mobile hotspot, the wire acted like an ethernet and gave me pretty good connection on my old PC but this new one wont recognise the wire as an ethernet substitute. The only option i have is to use the hotspot over wifi which is sitting at 1-2 bars of connection (not good enough for downloading or gaming) and frequently disconnects. I've looked into it the past couple of days and have come to the conclusion that i dont have the necessary driver to enable this to happen. So i watched a bunch of videos and read stuff but none of it works. The most promising method i saw to fixing my issue was to install the USB RNDIS6 adapter driver, however when i do this i get an error 'This device cannot start. (Code 10)'. I'm using an Iphone Xs Max with the latest ios. How should i go about fixing my issue, is this something that should have already been installed when my PC arrived? should I send it back and go about a month with no PC? (its still under warranty). I've attached a screenshot of all the drivers i have installed that look relevant to the problem.

Problem was solved by installing itunes and allowing all permissions to the phone. (itunes installed a driver for iphone ethernet when it recognised my device).

When it means over wifi, the phone becomes your wifi router, if you go into the Hotspot settings on the phone, it will give you a password for the wifi network it creates and the name of the network.

Then you just look for that network in your wifi list on your computer and connect.

Simples.

I use my iPhone as a 4/5g backup to my Virgin broadband, and am lucky that I get about 100mbps via the iphone’s personal hotspot.

Didn’t need to install any drivers or software to do so either…but via USB may well be different.

BTW, you do have the WiFi antennae plugged in don’t you?

Apple being Apple, you HAVE to have iTunes installed to connect the phone at all to a PC, it's really stupid.

Even though Apple themselves have abandoned iTunes a long time ago.

Not if you’re just using the WiFi tethering. I have this exact set up for both a locked down works HP Z-Book, and my PCS machine.

The iPhone is connected to a MagSafe charger that is connected to my Mac, and the 2 Windows machines just connect wirelessly if/when I need them to.

Of course, if you want to transfer media to the phone via WiFi or cable then you will need iTunes/Apple device drivers

i don't actually have that antenna plugged in tbh I didnt have one on my old pc because i always just plugged my phone in with the wire to my pc and it all worked fine so i never actually used the wifi. And yeah the wifi hotspot works without drivers etc but i just feel its more reliable to have a wired connection so i prefer having it plugged in.

That’s probably why you’re finding the low signal strength and possible unreliability.

I’m an Apple fan, but even I wouldn’t put iTunes on a Windows machine ever again

Yeah for some reason nobody during the time i was looking at solutions, mentioned that IOS devices need to have itunes installed to be able to use wired tethering. Wifi works without but mine was unreliable because i forgot the antenna.
