I purchased the Lafite I.
I was wondering what others thought of it and what their experience with it was?
My experience
Mine has been terrible. I purchased it first and foremost as a Linux machine, as others had reported that it worked flawlessly with Linux. Though the touchpad driver issue...
I remember when this keyboard was very popular in the forums.
1) However the nagging problem was always the crappy touchpad. Has anyone found any solutions to make it function better? Is it a hardware or a software problem?
I have found attaching a mobile screen protector makes the touchpad a...
I am running the latest LTS Linux Mint Cinammon (17.2 Rafaela).
I go to the Bluetooth page and I cannot turn on Bluetooth. After entering "sudo hcitool dev", no devices are displaying.
"Wireless chip: GIGABIT LAN & WIRELESS INTEL® AC-7265 M.2 (867Mbps, 802.11AC) + BLUETOOTH"
I purchased the Lafite laptop. Installed Windows 8.1 a while back myself. I am going to reinstall though.
In which order should I install the drivers? Which drivers should I install first?
The drivers as listed on PCSpecialist website:
Bluetooth & Wireless:
GIGABIT LAN & WIRELESS INTEL®...
I have created a boot disc on a USB for Windows 8.1 Pro and I am trying to install it on my Lafite laptop (I didn't choose the option to have windows installed by PCS).
When installing it, it shows a screen with all of the drives currently recognised.
It provides a list of the drives which are...
I'm deciding on an m.2 ssd for my lafite laptop - purchasing from amazon.
Should I get a 250gb ssd or a 500gb ssd?
I will have two OS' installed: Windows 8.1 and Ubuntu.
I don't know how much space Ubuntu + Ubuntu programs will take up. My current Windows OS takes up around 100gb - only the...
This Q is quite general for all laptops but I am specifically referring to the Lafite.
With any laptop, whose battery can only be replaced by unscrewing the laptop, what are your options if the battery breaks outside of battery warranty (I think the warranty for the battery is only 6 months and...
My safe assumption is that INTEL® HD GRAPHICS 5500 is better.
But why is this choice even given for Lafite laptop: https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/notebooks/lafite/ ?
Surely if you choose an i3,5,7 the cpu will come with an integrated Intel HD 5500 anyways?
I remember someone on this forum saying something about the possibility of PCS selling a larger version of the Lafite? Essentially with a Macbook-Pro form factor?
Anyone know which thread this was in or has any info on it?
I think someone said it would be out June/July. Is this true?
If so...
Did anyone take this protection from Google?
Anyone think it is needed?
I have mostly heard only good things about PCS and that they resolve issues reasonably well - this is my first time purchasing from pcs though.
Where is the M.2 SSD slot located on the Lafite laptop?
If I take the back cover off, is the m.2 ssd slot easily accessible? Do I need to unscrew anything extra to access the m.2 ssd slot?
I don't want to have to take off the mobo or anything
So getting round to ordering a laptop.
