I installed the latest windows and downloaded all the drivers from the PCS website for my laptop which seemed to fix everything so thanks everyone :)

Ok thank you. The software is installed but the backlight doesn't react to any changes made. It stays at a constant mid-brightness blue during the whole duration that the computer is turned on. The fan speed etc can be controlled using the software so it is installed correctly.
