Hi guys,
I just wanted to say thanks; since getting a new keyboard my problem seems to have been solved!
I really appreciate all the help you gave me. Have a great weekend :)
I tried shaking it but that didn't help. I wouldn't know where to start taking it apart so I've gone out and got a new keyboard instead. It's working at the moment but since it happens intermittently I don't know if it's fixed the problem or not (time will tell).
I didn't think it would be the...
Hi, RichLan564,
Apologies, I missed your reply!
Yes, that messaged does pop up every so often, which is very frustrating. But I'm not touching the shift key. And sometimes the keyboard has worked, other times it hasn't.
So the problem has got worse (the sfc didn't fix it sadly). I can't even log into Windows now on Startup (I'm having to use another computer to type this).
I tried to attach the log files with my last post but it said the forum didn't allow files with that extension :(
I'm going to go out and...
I'll try uploading the logs with this post then.
As for the problem occurring when I used the writing app, Scrivener, that's when I first noticed the problem (the mouse started highlighting everything then the keyboard began playing up again) but it happened afterwards even when I wasn't using...
Hi Ubuysa,
Thank you so much for taking the time to help me!
I've followed your instructions (I haven't been able to check another keyboard yet, but I will).
After using the command: dism /online /cleanup-image /checkhealth it said there was no component store corruption detected. But when I...

Hi Ubuysa,
Thanks for your advice. I actually did start a separate thread for my security concern but it got deleted.
As mentioned, my keyboard problem seems to have resolved itself for now (fingers crossed). But whilst I was trying to solve that problem, I uninstalled McAfee and that's when I...
I have read the article - it says that if "Secure boot mode is set to off" and "BIOS is set to Legacy" that I need to follow a further article "instructions to convert the installation of MBR to GPT" - which I have read.
I have followed the instructions of that further article:
Open Settings...
I followed the link you gave me and it doesn't show me how to check in the BIOS, it only tells me to check the System Info?
I have read another article, that says you need to check if your PC supports UEFI to be able to convert disks from MBR to GPD (so that Secure Boot can be enabled).
It...
I've followed the instructions, then it led to another article "How to convert MBR to GPT" but it seems to be outdated because it tells me to go to "Disk Management" > "Properties" > "Volumes" (but there is no Volumes tab) :(
Hi again,
Just to let you know I have Windows 10 not 11.
I have no idea if Secure Boot is enabled in the BIOS because after I restart my computer and hit the "delete" button to access the BIOS, I can't see anything in there that mentioned "Secure Boot". It does say in my System Info that it's...
Hi guys,
I have an expensive computer, from PCspecialist, that's really fast, but I have just noticed that it says "standard hardware security isn't supported".
I have looked at my system information and it says that "secure boot state" is "unsupported".
Can anyone please help me with this...
