I'm Considering these new mini SSD that are just out for holding the OS and a few frequently used programs but not sure what size would be required or how much of a performance gain it would give or if it would be worth it? I believe I'd have to have this when ordering the laptop as you won't be able to drop one in at a later date? Otherwise I'll go for a 750GB Scorpio Black.

Are the pictures and specifications correct for both Vortex machines? The reason I ask is that for the 17.3" the spec. says a DVI-out port but the picture clearly shows a VGA port? Also the description for both the 15.6" and 17.3" in the 'features' tab makes the sound system on both appear to be the same (THX TruStudio Surround system) but under the 'detailed specification' tab the 17.3" has a better sound system (5.1 channel and 5 speakers with subwoofer as opposed to 2 channel and 2 speakers on the 15.6"). The picture for the 15.6" appears to have a fingerprint scanner between the buttons on the touchpad but the specification doesn’t have a fingerprint scanner? Finally, the ventilation on the 15.6" looks better than on the 17.3" and I would have thought it would have been the other way around?

I'm looking for a laptop for general use and somewhat future proof in running games of the future.

Considering Optimus II and Vortex II (15.6" and 17.3").

Budget is around £1,300 without operating system. It would be great if anyone could answer my questions as below or generally throw their 2 cents in for a good build:

1) I'm Looking to have blue-ray at some point but don't know if it would be easier to get it off the bat or if it would be easy to add a blue-ray drive at a later date on any of the above chassis?

2) Is there a noticeable gain in performance for 8GB Samsung 1333MHz RAM vs 8GB Kingston Hyper X Genesis 1600MHz RAM. I believe on the Vortex I could have 16GB of 1333MHz Ram but would be limited to 8GB 1600MHz RAM. If so, what's the performance difference between the 2 and balance on the system as a whole?

3) How superior is the GTX460M to the GT540M and how do both stack up in playing the games of the future?
