PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST How long is the process for a desktop pc currently?

What CPU and GPU did you go with?

    PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Power Supply

That is very interesting to know about the fans. I didn't realise they were dependent on the power usage. It might be worth it for that alone. Thanks @Scott

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Overclocking - Why not to OC AMD/Ryzen 3000 Series Systems

Does this still apply with the new 5000X series? Also based on your post, does that mean building a Machine under PCSs Overclocked AMD section isn't going to make much difference?

    PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Power Supply

PC specialist have a great system to let you know when you are ordering a power supply higher than you need, I think it calculates a 20% buffer for your needs. But can you benefit from a bigger buffer? I vaguely remember coming across a source online saying that they like to have a power source...

Great info @Scott @Nursemorph . I really appreciate the input. No point in wasting cash building a machine I will barely utilise.

Ah. You mention lowering the motherboard, what should I look at buying for the 5800X (doing further research it seems to be the better option for single core operations in Maya)

Good to know. I'll kept that in mind and try hold onto it then, depending on the GPU prices when AMD roll out their cards

OK Great, thank you @Nursemorph. Ill look into a better cooler for the 5600X and 5800X

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Single core Apps and some light gaming

oops sorry @Nursemorph I was using my mobile to reply, I need to open my eye more. Regarding the CPU, how much of a difference would the cache make for single core processes. The 5600X and 5800X are almost half that of the 5900X. Is it more important for higher core counts? Is the cooler in...

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Single core Apps and some light gaming

Hey Scott. Thanks for responding. Yeah that's not a bad idea. The 5900 might be over kill if there are no other features that would boost performance for my uses. It difficult to get specific info for animating rather than rendering (which benefits from more cores) The only reason I have the...

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Single core Apps and some light gaming

I have a 4K 60Hz Monitor and my budget is approximately €2500. My main use for the machine will be for work, using programs that unfortunately can't utilise multiple cores, relying mostly on a fast single core. For work I don't need a killer graphics card but it need to be solid. I may hold...
