Seem to be going in circles here with people contradicting each other - my order estimated 16-19 working days so that is what I expect to wait, even though the current backlog average is 29 (or whatever). It does seem odd if the backlog is 29 ish and new orders placed today don't show that though.
Thanks - that does make sense and gives me reassurance. So the approx for my order is 13-16 (working?) days as that was what was shown on the configurator. I have already checked with support that there were no unavailable parts or pre-order parts for my build.
I'm just saying that if the info they have post order on delays is accurate, and conflicts with what the consumer sees when purchasing (as it seems to) this is misleading. They should publish that table when people are placing orders + note whether it includes 'pre order' items - like GPU I expect.
And yet when speccing and placing an order - when you need to know the dispatch time to compare with other retailers - you can only select 'standard build time, approximately 13-16 days'.
I think this is misleading when they clearly have more accurate information to know that this won't be the...

Seems to run hot... at least with the door closed. Maybe I'm just splitting hairs here. Very hard to decide without side by side reviews.
So yeah - does anyone else have a view on the Fractal R7 vs the Icue500x ? I don't care about RGB, just temps vs noise really. Both look OK (discrete is my watchword).
Edit - they are also the same price. I'm leaning to the R7 on size and quiet. I guess I would need to ask for a SWAP asap
Thanks that is reassuring.
I will look at the R7 cost and see if that can be swapped. Noise is an issue for me, but it's always going to be a trade off vs temps (I don't plan to overclock).
I need to think a bit more about the monitor, currently got a 27" 1080p so will need to upgrade that -...
OK so I have actually placed the order for this now (4 days ago, in pre-production) but with 3600 RAM as recommended by their customer support.
Only concern I have is the Corsair iCue 5000x case... I am seeing a lot of reviews saying out of the box performance is poor because of the lack of...
Good point. Appreciate your reasoning here - PSU are 'for life' and RAM is for Christmas, or something.
Think this is about there and just needs me to look into the case a bit (y). Silly question but I assume the coloured RGB stuff can be turned off?
Thanks for taking the time Steve. Price creeping up 😅 maybe I can live with one M.2 drive for now, and the original PSU. I guess just reaching the minimum 750w recommended creates some slight risk.
I'm keen on quiet which attracted me to the Fractal Define 7 + that CPU cooler. A friend of mine...
Thanks for your reply Martin, appreciate it. I thought I did OK!

Budget is around where I am at now, these just seemed common components for a 3080 (RAM and CPU).
Hi all
Returning to gaming to spend more time with friends, and want something with good longevity but not bleeding edge. Typically play FPS games. I need everything apart from GPU essentially (bought a 3080).
Wondering if I'm missing anything obvious here. Going for quiet v ultra cooling to...
