Laptop power supply & connection

I am looking for a laptop with a robust power supply connection. I have had two laptops in recent years that have only lasted a short while because the power connections become faulty and the battery cannot charge. I have a Dell laptop for work that I have had for about 5 years and have never experienced this issue with it due to robust construction of the connection.

To cut to the chase do any of your laptops have a similar power connector as the Dell type (it looks like the Vortex has something more substantial from looking at the pictures) - or is it an option to have installed?

In a past life i spent a lot of time inside laptops with a soldering iron replacing jacks. The chassis we sell do have robust jacks and its not something we usually hear about within the 3 year warranty.

however nothing is immune to the old "wire cought around leg" scenario.
