The touchpad is supposed to be slightly recessed into the chassis, just below the keyboard. However, the top left-hand corner is actually sticking up beyond the chassis. I'm wondering if, as you say, something has become dislodged when putting the laptop back together and is actually underneath...
Thanks for your prompt reply. I've been away for a couple of days, so just booted the laptop and, after accepting the message and going into windows, the date & time were wrong again. However, after 60 secs or so it does sync to the correct date & time.
So, do you think I should flash the BIOS...
I purchased an Elimina laptop for my son from PC Specialist less than 2 years ago. About 3 weeks ago, the touchpad developed a problem, namely pressing the bottom right-hand corner failed to bring up any short-cut menus. An RMA was raised and the laptop sent to PC Specialist, who replaced the...
Thanks for the prompt replies. As I said in my original post, the screen is dimming when the battery level falls to 35%. It is not happening as a result of Battery Saver, which is set at 20% by default. And I have actually turned this off to see if it would resolve the issue. It didn't!
As for...
In December 2020, I ordered a new gaming laptop from an online supplier (not PC Specialist). Right from the start I had a number of issues, one of which was the screen would dim whenever the battery level reached 30%. I’d go into Settings > System > Display and the slider under Brightness would...
On the website under Gaming/Editing Laptops you are presented with a choice of 2 Elimina laptops (excluding the Pro). This is true for both 15.6" and 17.3".
The only real differences that I can see are the cases are different, particularly the air vents, and the laptop marked as "New" has an...
Apologies for the confusion. In the 2nd option you posted posted earlier I swapped out the 1st Storage Drive: 2TB PCS 2.5" SSD, SATA 6 Gb (520MB/R, 470MB/W) for the 2TB Samsung 870 QVO 2.5" SSD, SATA 6Gb/s (up to 560MB/sR | 530MB/sW). Currently, it only costs another £5.
Chassis & Display...
Thanks for the prompt response. Rather than swap out the HDD for the 2TB PCS SSD, I might as well stick with the 2TB Samsung 870 as it's currently only another £5.
I think that's the big question now. For the storage do I go for the SSD or the cheaper HDD saving myself £100? Decisions, decisions!
Thanks for you reply and suggestions BHUNA50 and apologies for my tardiness in responding. No offence, but I was hoping for some additional responses in order to get some sort of consensus.
Anyway, on to your recommended changes. I will swap the 250GB Samsung for the 500GB as you suggest.
As...
Hi. I’m looking to purchase a new gaming laptop that I can also use for day to day stuff. I don’t profess to be an expert when it comes to computers, but I can get by.
Looking at the various posts on this forum has proved extremely useful and informative. The one standout piece of advice seems...
