    I am not sure.. I have set the mobo to gen3 for PCie support but looks like I am getting gen1 like performance This is a brand new build from pcspecialist.. with a brand new drive and mobo.. hence why i tested and have put this post up..

    Hi the dd i was using is a sequential read/write according to the benchmark results people are getting 1.3-1.4 but I am seeing a flat 1Gbs DRIVE MB I dont have any such windows image.. thanks for the idea tho

    thanks for your reply, I dont have windows on this machine it's a Linux only system. I am seeing what looks like a hard 1Gbs limit.. the benchmark I am using is a pure block level read/write .. I am going to contact ASUS ..
